Customized

Rebecca found this lovely strapless lace dress at Something Borrowed Bridal Boutique. She envisioned the dress with off the shoulder lace sleeves, and we made this idea into a reality! Lace was carefully selected to match the dress as closely as possible, and the sleeves were made based on Rebecca’s measurements. Her dress was also taken in at the sides and bustled in preparation for her beautiful beach ceremony.

Found as a sample gown at Ashley Grace Bridal, Emma’s stunning gown needed to be taken down a few sizes (done before these photos were taken) and then transformed into a more modest style. A new bodice and lining were built and added underneath the previously sheer neckline, and lace taken from her shortened hemline was added for a seamless look. The keyhole back was replaced by timeless buttons, lined, and filled in with lace.

Adjusted + Repurposed

Amy found her stunning lace sample gown at Ashley Grace Bridal. It needed to be taken in a few inches at the sides, the straps were shortened, and the hem was raised (scalloped lace was taken off and then hand-sewn back on to make this possible). The train was also bustled for her day. Perhaps most excitingly, lace appliqués were cut from the lace taken from the hem and thoughtfully arranged at the edges of a custom veil, completing Amy’s look for her beautiful April wedding. More photos of Amy’s bridal look can be found in Bridal Veils.

Fitted + Reimagined

Emily found her whimsical gown as a sample dress at BHLDN. The originally sheer bodice was a bit too revealing for her traditional Catholic ceremony, so a separate satin bodice was customized to fit seamlessly into her dress. The gown was also taken in at the sides and shoulders, hemmed, and bustled for the most beautiful December wedding.

Strapped

This beautiful strapless gown was given a set custom straps for a more comfortable and complete bridal look. The straps were crafted from fabric taken off at the hem to fit the bride’s measurements, and appliqués were cut from the lace layer to match the dress perfectly.

Lauren made this strapless lace gown her own by requesting that custom straps be added for a more comfortable and polished look. The straps were designed based on inspiration photos and Lauren’s measurements, and the lace was then hand-beaded to mimic the detailing throughout the dress. Bra cups were also added and the bustle was also reworked to perfection for the bride’s big day.

Shortened + Detailed

Katie lace gown fit her well, but needed to be hemmed, bustled, and taken a bit on the sides to form to her silhouette. Katie also wanted to add a bit of sparkle to her dress, which was accomplished by stitching a delicate belt at the waistline.

Repaired.

This gorgeous lace gown had seen a bit of wear, but it was carefully hand-stitched and beaded -restored to look like new! The sides also taken in to fit the bride, working with a zipper closure and maintaining the details of the gown.

Tied Up

Ashley’s dress was stunning from the start, but a little small in the bust area. In order to solve this problem, the zipper and buttons were taken out and a corset back was made. A custom panel was designed to fit under the corset ribbons, using excess lace from the hem to seamlessly compliment the rest of the bodice.

Cathlene fell in love with this consigned gown, but the bodice was a bit too small initially. The zipper back was replaced by a corset back and panel to match the gown, seamlessly adding comfort and detail for her big day!

Bustled

This intricate cathedral length train is a show-stopper whichever way its worn. Found at Something Borrowed Bridal Boutique, the dress required five bustle points utilizing both button and hook and eye fasteners to achieve a timeless over-bustle.

Beaded

Carly’s beaded silk gown was nothing short of a show-stopper, and such a delight to work on! In order to tighten the shoulders, lace and beads were removed and re-stitched by hand, a time-consuming but rewarding endeavor. Tiny darts were created in the back for a more fitted look, and grips were added at the shoulders for comfort and stability. Lastly, a beautiful French bustle was created from the train so that the bride could dance through the reception with ease.

Made to Measure

Sarah had a vision for her dream dress and was able to see that idea stitched into a reality. The bride wanted a sleek white sheath dress, and selected this crisp silk crepe for her gown. She was looking for unique details at the back of the dress, which were accomplished through a sheer lace back and delicate buttons down the skirt and train (photo on “About” page of this site). The dress was created by taking Sarah’s measurements and draping the dress to meet those. Multiple fittings and brainstorming sessions made for a fun collaboration with the bride-to-be and a stunning wedding day!
